Tax Collection

The Delinquent Tax Division of the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office specializes in the collection of unpaid property taxes on behalf of the Knox County Treasurer.

Individual units of this Division specialize in the collection of unpaid property taxes on behalf of the Knox County Treasurer, and in advising the Knox County Auditor and Treasurer regarding the collection of property taxes.

The Delinquent Real Estate Tax Unit collects unpaid real estate taxes on behalf of the County Treasurer, assists landowners willing to pay, and institutes foreclosure actions against those who fail to pay.
The Delinquent Personal Property Tax Unit advises the Knox County Auditor and the Knox County Treasurer regarding the collection of personal property taxes.
