Welcome to the urban/residential planning side of the Knox SWCD.
Knox SWCD’s primary role with new builds is to administer stormwater permits for residential and business development. We also field calls on residential/urban drainage issues, small ponds, and lot splits. When new homes, additions, or buildings are being built, that will disturb under 20,000 sq ft of land, they are required to submit a storm water letter of agreement. For earth disturbance of 20,000 sq ft or more, a storm water plan review application must be submitted.
