Soil & Water Conservation District

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

All Soil & Water Conservation Districts in Ohio are governed by an elected Board of Supervisors. The Knox SWCD Board oversees a conservation assistance program that serves landowners of Knox County and has an annual operating budget of $450,000. Members elected to the SWCD Board are considered public officials under Ohio law, but serve without pay except for reimbursement of direct expenses.
Board members serve three year terms and can run for re-election as many times as they desire. Elections are staggered with the elections for the first year being seats one and two, the second year being seats three and four, and the third year being seat five. For more information you may contact the SWCD office directly at 740-393-6724.
Elections are run by the Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Soil and Water Conservation. They take place each year at the county SWCD Annual Meeting. Any county citizen who is registered to vote can participate in the election.
