The Knox County Tax Map Office is your first stop for real estate descriptions, land title research and maps or survey drawings. We are conveniently located with the County Auditor’s and Recorder’s Offices, on the first floor of the Knox County Service Center in Mount Vernon.
Documents can be emailed for review and pre-approval to [email protected].
The Map Department assigns all house numbers in Knox County, including the City of Mount Vernon and all villages. If you are building a new home, Click here for a checklist outlining the steps required to build. Click here for a house number application.
Please note you must have an approved access management permit or driveway permit and the property must be in your name before a house number can be assigned.
